American Dream U Program Provides Resources for Military Spouses to Find Jobs

Military Spouses are hard-working, resilient, motivated, and highly adaptable. These characteristics are highly valued by top employers, yet currently the Military Spouse unemployment rate stands at a shocking 16 percent , roughly four times the national average , and the underemployment rate is approximately 70 percent. Having a career as a Military Spouse can be extremely challenging due to frequent moves, base locations, and deployment. American Dream U has created a new program for Military Spouses to help them identify their passion, find their dream job, and connect with a tribe of other Military Spouses for a support network.

ADU has partnered with Ramit Sethi and Military Talent Partners to bring Military Spouses a Dream Job Toolkit to give them the resources they need to prepare for and land their dream job.

The Military Spouse Dream Job Toolkit is designed to guide the MilSpouse through articulating the unique skills that give them an advantage over civilian workers, create a resume, prepare to answer interview questions, negotiate salary, and additional resources to take immediate action and crush their career goals.

After completion of the online training included in the toolkit, Military Talent Partners provides mentorship, coaching, and career discovery to help Military Spouses realize their potential and define their professional goals.
